What is the model number of the washer?
If it is a DTT166 then it may be an air lock in the drain pump or it is a faulty drain switch not allowing the pump to operate when the washer is in spin mode.
See p.8 #12 of the user manual for how to possibly resolve the air lock problem.
On p.19 it shows the wiring diagram where the drain switch (select switch) is shown. It's the one with the brown, black & purple wires connected to it. It may be that the black-purple wire switch contacts are faulty. These are used to operate the pump when the spin motor is in use. The brown-black wire switch contacts are used to operate the pump when the wash motor is in use.
