Replace broken battery terminals?
So the batteries leaked, corroded the battery terminals, and a few of the springs broke off. Can I replace just the teminals?

Hi Matt,
You should be able to replace those fairly easily. The one guide available for that device has this handy picture as the first one in the guide.
The spring contacts consist of a spring mounted on a strip of metal that connects one positive end of a battery to a negative end of the next. It looks to me like there are five of those double contacts and probably two single contacts at each end; one positive with a spring and one negative.
With the exception of the two end contacts, those terminals just pull straight up to remove them. You can buy replacements quite easily on places like Amazon among others. Here's a picture of what you're looking for.
This is just the first example that came up; you'll need to measure yours and compare them against the sellers descriptions to find one that fits.

Thanks Jerry, that’s really helpful. The key for me was “those terminals just pull straight up to remove” - I was too tentative :-)
Great, glad it was useful. Once you get it figured out, come on back and maybe show us how you replaced those parts and what part you ended up buying; that way the next person who comes along with the same problem can benefit from your experience. That is, after all, what this site is all about.
By the way, you don't happen to own a TARDIS, do you? :D
