Why is my phone shutting down often

My Phone Redmi 9c, I've been using this device for almost 4 years and my parents finally bought me a new phone so i had to give my old phone to my little sister. I carefully handled my old phone as it lasted 4 years to my care, it had some rough crash but it really didn't damage the phone much, only my screen cracked and currently it's slow as hell but i got used to it. Sometime passed and i got a news that my phone is not charging every problem just starts coming up. I bought a new charger and fortunately i work but when i tried to open it, it's become slower and very annoying to do stuff in it and then, after meddling into it, it shut down on it's own. It happen very often that I can't even use it

Hey, I totally get how frustrating that must feel — especially after taking such good care of your phone for 4 years. It sounds like your Redmi 9C is really starting to show its age. The slow performance, random shutdowns, and charging issues are pretty common signs that the hardware is wearing out.

Since you've already tried a new charger and it's still acting up, the battery or motherboard might be failing. Unfortunately, phones do slow down over time, especially after several years of use and a few crashes along the way.

If your sister still needs a phone, you might consider getting the battery checked or replaced — sometimes a new battery can make a big difference. But if the phone keeps shutting down and lagging badly, it may not be worth putting more money into it. You did a great job keeping it alive this long, honestly. It might just be time to retire it fully.

Well you can do the following:

  • Restart in Safe Mode: This disables third-party apps to check if one is causing the issue.
  • Update your software: Check for OS or app updates.
  • Check battery health: Check you phone batter health and for slow phone go for a good phone optimizer app like Smart Phone Cleaner.
  • Factory reset: If all else fails and the problem seems software-related.
  • Visit a technician: Especially if you suspect hardware issues.
