@ladytech oh I know. And it's hilarious to me. The rest of the stupidity I find techs doing? Not so much... picture if you will a refrigeration condenser. Apparently it had a hole in the condenser. Rather than replace condenser coil, they ran copper to.an abandoned ice machine condenser.... the stupidity knows no limits. I refused to touch that unit.

I’ve seen 3 old reach in beer coolers in an old beer joint have the compressor, condenser and condenser fan motor outside of the building with the added wiring and copper lines running through holes in the wall. It works. The inside of bar doesn’t get the heat or noise from the compress and fan motor. It looks so unprofessional to see the compressor and condenser sitting on bricks in weeds. It had me laughing. It’s really a good idea that help that bar reduce its electric bill refuse noise and made it more comfortable

I mean that IS valid... I could call up the engineer we use with one of our major suppliers, give him the dimensions of the boxes, as well as info for the evaps, and he would tell me exactly what skid it needs. I've seen stranger.
