Is the ps5 fan supposed to be on all the time

So I was wondering should the ps5 fan be spinning when you switch it on because mine doesnt spin when I switch the ps5 on

Nope, there is a sensor in it, it only turns on (or goes faster) when it needs it.

So you should be all good!

So I look at it with a scope I get a pwm signal without the fan plugged in. When I plug a supposedly new fan in it disappears. Is this normal?

Not sure, never checked for the PWM signal. Just game with it for like 4 hours, this should get the fan running a bit. Also, when it's getting too hot, it will shut it self down, and this will happen pretty quickly (most likely after 10 minutes of gaming).

i order a brand new fan from ifxit. But the ps5 still doesn't spin the fan. There is 12v at the connector.

It could be that the sensor died on the motherboard. Did you gamed with it for like 4-8 hours?
