Red light but no switch on.

Bush tv DVD combo. Power going to DVD and red light. No power up whatsoever. Ive removed the logic board. Slight deformity on the Q1 component I'm assuming. It has no markings. Would this be my issue.

The diode thing looks to be melted. No writing visible on it.

First You’ve to check the fuse on the power supply if it works well, then check on the diagram of the power supply that’s a primary, Check all the voltage if it’s in order if not then put a bulb of 100 watts on the fuse then you wait like two minutes then after you get your multimeter target it on 1000dc then you start measuring every voltage if it’s in a proper order

Okay I will get a multimeter at work and check power supply first. I can only assume power supply is okay because it is spinning the DVD player etc. Easier to buy a new TV but I'd like to fix it if possible.

If all that a working well then it’s led lights you have to open the screen there’s those led bulbs in there you can replace it, I think it has two bars or three but if it’s 32” then it’s only two, you just replace led bulbs it will work again

@stevenlafferty we will need to know the exact model of your Bush TV. Lets see what we got going on here. The red light only means your TV has standby power. It is actually your main board that tells the power supply to turn the appropriate circuits on. The main board gets it's signal from the IR board and/or the button bar. You can always start by removing the back cover )unplug your TV and DO NOT TOUCH THE BOARDS for a while. The power capacitors hold a charge even when unplugged).

Next take a close look at the boards. See if you can make out any damaged and even missing component etc. Next you want tpo measure the voltages to and from the main board. We will need to see those boards. Take some good pictures of those boards and how they interconnect etc. and post those with your Question. That way we can see what you see.
