Why did my PS3 shut down after opening

My PS3 was working perfectly fine. One day, I came home from school and tried to turn it on. The green light came on for about 2–3 seconds, then it turned off again. Normally, when I turn on the PS3, the red light appears first, then it turns green. But now, the red light doesn’t even show up. I have to unplug the power cable and plug it back in to see the red light again.

Since I don't have a PS3 controller, I was using a PS4 controller. I always turn the PS3 on and off using the console's power button, not the controller. I never turn it on or off with the controller because it’s a PS4 controller.

Please help me. Why is this happening? Is it a short
