Xbox series X No Signal

My Xbox is showing no signal, and I’ve already tried a few troubleshooting steps, but it still isn’t working. The issue started right after I unplugged the console.

The HDMI port doesn’t have any broken pins and feels solid — it doesn’t move at all. However, when I plug the HDMI cable in, it makes a sticky sound, and I can see what looks like some residue or white material at the bottom of the port. What could be causing this?

@forth disassemble and remove your board then post some pictures of that with your Question. Right now, everything is just a guess.

Hi David!

HDMI port looks fine!

It could be a lot of things.

Could also be the HDMI IC! Do you have any soldering experience? Otherwise I would try replacing this one and see how it goes.

Could also be any other component on the motherboard, but let’s try the HDMI IC first.

The sticky white residue you talk about could be the issue. Isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush would be my first step. Put some in a container and dip the brush in and give it a scrub. The alcohol doesn't affect electronics so it's fine. If you don't want to buy any ask a reputable mobile phone or computer shop to give it a good clean. Shouldn't be expensive. If it still doesn't work and the port is fine it could be the retimer chip has gone. Any decent shop should be able to remove and solder a new one on unless your comfortable with hot air smd work yourself. I did my xbox one s but I've soldered for years.
