My mom’s washer is loud

My mom is having the same symptom with her washer as me, hers is a Whirlpool Cabrio model WTW5500BW0.

She says it’s been very loud on the spin cycle without it being off balance, and I came over and it sounded like a jet engine just like on my own machine (WTW4900BW0).

Hi @homerepair61

Here's the tech sheet for your mother's washer.

Follow the procedure for an Optical Sensor check, as shown on p.15 of the manual and see if that isolates the problem further.

If you find the problem and it is a faulty part that needs replacing, here's the parts list that is useful.

Locate the wanted part in the list and note the part number that is listed with it. Search online for the part number only, to find suppliers that suit you best.

Sometimes if you're lucky, if you search on YouTube for (insert wanted part number) replacement, there may be videos that show how to replace the part
