Released November 2020, the PS5 console features vastly upgraded visuals and an innovative new Dualsense controller. The space-age black-and-white color scheme is a noticeable departure from PlayStation designs of the past.

Displays on TV but not monitor

so my ps5 displays in my TV but not my monitor. I thought it was the hdmi port ay first because it wasn’t displaying at all but after letting it stay off for like 20 minutes I turned the tv on and the game pop up so I took that same hdmi cord unplug from the tv and plug it into the monitor and nothing happens I don’t know what to do. I know the monitor works because I test my computer to make sure and the cord works as well. I do this all the time but this time it just went black screen can’t get it into safe mode on the monitor because nothing pops up. So don’t know what I’m clicking.

Update (04/26/25)

Hi!

What is the maximum supported resolution for your monitor? Please note that if your PS5 is running on 4K (and your TV support 4K) and your monitor only support Full HD, then it won’t work offcourse.

Please put the PS5 on your TV and select 1080P and then try again on your monitor.

If it’s still failing, then your monitor may not be compatible somehow… contact with Sony is advised if this is the case. Maybe a firmware update can fix this.

Hmm, when you connect it to your monitor and put the PS5 in safe mode, does it show an image? If yes, then a setting must be set incorrect. If not, then we must troubleshoot further. So, it did worked before on the monitor? Since when did it stopped working?

It does not show in safe mode on the monitor and yes it worked perfectly fine before

Is the PS5 up to date? Do you have the exact model(s) regarding the monitor? Do you try directly on the HDMI (instead of display port adapters)? Since when did it stopped working? After an update, or out of nowhere?
