Plunger is not pushing nail out after oiling everything

I removed the nail magazine and lubricated down in the plunger and moving parts but the plunger is not firing correctly. It appears to only fire a short distance instead of to the end of the rail. The nail comes out but does not embed into the wood. What is the root cause of the failure?
