Display discolouring after battery replacement

Hello,

My issue is discolouration at display edges after battery replacement. The phone is iphone 11.

So i needed to replace the old battery (it was 78% and not bulged), removed the old one no issues, put the new one flush, cable on the side (not on top), removed the old adhesive, put the new adhesive on the sides, I had to redo the adhesive, because i did not manage to put it correctly at first and after that closed the phone without much effort and the display fitted fine without effort, i put the screws without overtighting them and the next few hours everything was great, but at the next morning (the phone was left charging overnight) it had yellow discolouring on the edges of the display - like there was pressure from the inside, opened the phone again removed the adhesive (to remove the pressure if there was any) and closed it after that but the discolouration unfortunately does not go away. When i opened it the battery looked fine there is no bulging.

So now I am thinking of putting a new display but I am worried that the new one will end up like the other.

I would guess that the discoloration was due to pressure on the display, possibly due to clumping of the original adhesive install - been there, done that.

If there is no adhesive on it now and the color is still there, then the display has been damaged.

A new battery doesn't expand when charging. If the old battery expanded, you would know it when you pulled it out and the pressure would be more in the canter. So I don't think that is the issue. If the display is loose and still shows yellow, it is damaged. Replacing it with properly set adhesive should not be a problem -- as long as you don't force anything into position.

Open up the phone again. Does the screen still have the yellow marks when it's not fitted? If not there's something around the edge causing pressure. Clean all traces of adhesive around the frame and the back of the screen then fit it. If you applied heat to the screen depending what you used you could of applied too much heat in those areas. Yellow marks usually indicate heat.

Thanks guys, I opened and cleaned it up and now the marks are fewer but I am worried to put adhesive once again and a new display;

I think that there is a good chance that the battery expanded more that usual when charging and it will happen again, maybe the battery is faulty or old. Because the yellow marks on the display appeared after overnight charging; they were not there 3-4 hours after the battery replacement and closing the phone.
