Released September 24th, Apple's 2021 flagship smartphone features a 6.1" ProMotion OLED display, a new triple-lens rear camera system, and 5G. Successor to the iPhone 12 Pro.

iPhone 13 pro battery replacement

I bought the anti-clamp and iphone 13 pro fix it kit to replace my battery on my iphone 13 pro.

I cannot get an initial gap to appear at the bottom of the display after following these directions:

iPhone 13 Pro Battery Replacement

After removing the pentalope screws at the bottom of the iPhone, I tried the following process for 2 hours:

Heat the bottom of the iPhone with a hair dryer for 90 seconds, quarter turn the anti-clamp to increase the suction each time, wait for a minute to see if a gap appears but it never did.

There must be a step that isn’t in the instructions.

Specifically, what to do when the following step does not result in an opening gap at the bottom of the display other than try again:

“Wait one minute to give the adhesive a chance to release and present an opening gap.”

I am trying this repair myself because the apple store refused to replace my battery as the top right corner (metal part not the screen) has a few more scratches than they are comfortable with.

If the kit came with a guitar pick like plastic piece, you can try inserting it by pressing it between the frame and the screen (CAREFULLY) with a sliding motion. This can help encourage the phone screen’s adhesive to come loose.

Edit: You may already know this, but just to make sure, if you don’t have a replacement adhesive for the screen, it won’t be dust proof or water proof as it was before.

Heat the phone while pulling, increase pull force but not too much so the suction cup pops off, find the upper limit of the pulling force then keep it.

Then heat the phone at the area you want to pull apart to soften the adhesive, it will soften and pull apart.
