Whether your flute won’t play, the keys are sticky, or you have a broken key altogether, there is a way to repair it.

Flute won't speak beyond bottom two octaves.

I am a very experienced flutist, and was testing a flute getting sent to a reservation. The bottom two octaves work well (once I hooked the springs back up). Above the staff can get C#, D, sort of Eb, F not at all. Wondering what could be causing this. Bent place on inside of where foot joint is attaches that I haven't smoothed out yet.

Just like the standard holes which you cover with your fingers the seal of the hole needs to be complete. The lower holes often have a key rod extension and key pad these also need to offer a tight seal to work properly. Check the cork/silicon seals and spring of the given lifter as well as check the head join cork as well.
