Mercedes Benz ABS ESP INTERMITTENTLY & steering tightens

First, Get it scanned; we need codes to figure this out. Either buy an all-system scanner (or at least one that can read Mercedes OE proprietary codes, ABS is one of those systems), pay someone to do it, or have an auto parts store scan the car for you. THAT SAID, this is a safety system, so they may not give those codes out to you at a parts store, so keep that in mind. Something like this will easily scan your Benz, cheaper readers are kind of a gamble with Benzes, Audis and BMWs in general. Once you have some codes, come back to us with said codes and we can piece it together.

This may be related to the SBC pump. DO NOT clear the codes if you see a code known to be SBC related, or better yet, do not clear any. Mercedes has a 25 year warranty due to major defects though I have heard 10 years before. Keep the codes on the car so you can take it in if you see any codes relating to the SBC pump. It is likely closer to the 25 year mark, especially on the Maybachs with issues.
