Had problem where the picture went out. Sound worked. Removed back and unplugged the cable from power board to main board and back light came on, but then plugged the cable back in with power on and now have nothing, no power or standby click noise. Question is do I bother continuing or junk the TV.

Thanks

@bill278 you may have shorted out the power supply. Post some good pictures of your boards with your Question. Let's see what you got going on there. I would also suggest you try to disconnect the main board once more (with the power off) and see if you get any reaction from the power supply. You will need a multimeter in order to check the power board.

I know ic208 on main board is blown. Don't see anything on the power board that looks bad, and I had both boards out and back in and nothing.

@bill278 how do you know you have a bad IC on your main board? Have you checked if your power board has any voltages? What voltages have you measured? Do you have the 13V stby voltage on your power board?

Ic208 has a burnt spot on it with a hole. It smoked the last time I plugged the board in. And not sure where to check for the standby voltage. When the TV is plugged in, and the main board is unplugged and then plugged in for just a second there is a relay noise from the power board. But that's it. I have done some diode checking and visually looked at the stuff on the power board, and nothing obvious looks bad.

@bill278 try to repost those images. The ones you posted are to small and not well focused to zoom in. You do not want to continue to use your main board with a shortened out IC. You already know you will need to replace that since there are no schematics for those boards. Your mainboard is actually what tells your power bord to turn on. A bad main board may not turn your power board on.
