Screen Glitch - Box and plus icon

For some unknown reason my PS5 seems to be stuck with several small boxes across the screen, I can’t get them off. I’ve tried rebooting in safe mode, resetting it and even actioned it to rebuild the data base in safe mode and they’re still there. I’ve changed the HDMI cable and plugged it into the each HDMI port on the TV.

The issue isn’t on the TV itself it’s only when the PS5 boots up the attached shows

So this only happens when the PS5 is booting (in the boot animation)?

Then there is something wrong on firmware level based.

Just wondering, did you tried another TV? Just to be sure.

What you can try is to update the PS5 it's firmware and see if that solves it, if not, then it will be very difficult to fix this. I even advise to contact Sony at this point. Make sure that you also share your TV model with them.

Hi Dan,

It’s hard to tell because they’re so dark I can’t see them when the PS5 is in safe mode. I have just forced it to update but it’s still presenting the boxes :(
