My engine light came on with the message, engine emission problem, take to dealer immediately, but it isn't making noise or having issues, what could be wrong?

I took it in to our regular mechanic, they scanned it and it said Emissions sensor, he reset the code, took it for a test drive, code didn't come back on, and still hasn't. He said the computer systems are so sensitive, it could have just been the fluctuation in the outside temperatures, we went from very cold to unseasonably warm? He didn't have to repair anything, just said to keep an eye on it, if the warning came back on, bring it in and they would examine further. Was charged $115 for scanning and diagnostics, I was ok with that!

@marshajensen anything is possible and it would depend on what code your scan showed. For as long as it is fixed and does not give you any further issue, it won't matter :-)

MAYBE it is something more common these days === same as my RAV4 and HL went through.
Dining squirrels. They ate wires in the RAV and a hose from the gas tank on the HL. That created the emission DTC. Go to Autozone, Advance Auto or maybe Reilly's and ask for a DTC scan. You can get a better idea looking up the codes.

It could just be a bad sensor. Flow sensor. Carbon monixide sensor, etc. So the car will run ok, but not optimized.

@marshajensen for now, just get your Honda's OBDII scanned ands see what codes it gives you. I agree, could really be simple enough. Once you know what codes it sends. let us know. Depending where you are located, you might check places like AutoZone and see if they are still doing free scanning.
