Panasonic combi - grill faulty

Panasonic combi model: NN-A574SBBTQ

Grill function stopped working.

Microwave function works ok.

Checked so far:

Both internal fuses ok

Thermal cutout ok

New quartz grill element replaced (twin)

Control panel & display appear to be working perfectly.

Door switches appear working ok.

No power to grill element.

Possibly a power relay failure, but not sure how to identify this part or if its easily replaceable?

Tim, normally we suggest to people to stay away from the microwave repair. I guess in your case, and since you are already up to your armpits in it, it is okay to suggest something. get the service manual from here. It does have the diagrams as well as parts description etc. The troubleshooting section says that:"

Symptom

1. Oven is dead.

Fuse is OK

No display and no operation at all.

Cause

1. Open or loose lead wire harness.

2. Open low voltage transformer.

3. Defective DPC AU or DPC DU

Again, please be careful, would not want you to get zapped (or is it fried:-) anyhow, good luck. hope this helps.

Hi, its ok I'm an Engineer. Also have the service manual and I did read this - but the oven is not dead as it says there, only the grill, and the display and operation is ok otherwise. Theres no mention in the manual of the symptom grill being dead.

Tim, the way I read it, it distinguishes the oven (grill?) from the microwave. Of course, as many of my colleagues on here can attest to, I have been wrong plenty of times :-) What about the thermistor and Relay RY4 since it is responsible to switch the grill heater?

Yes thanks, I identified RY4 on the wiring diagram but not physically - its not on parts list. If its on one of the boards can it be replaced or even tested ?
