Does anyone have a teardown/service manual for a Polaroid 1500/Pronto?

I have a Polaroid 1500 (similar to a Pronto! I think) tried to take it apart to clean the viewfinder as some dust managed to get in, but it came apart at the wrong place and now the front shutter mechanism area is in pieces and I have no idea how to reassemble them.

I can't find ANY information online about the 1500 or the Pronto, and I'm at my wits end. If you have any information (teardown instructions, videos, photos, service manuals, technical documentation, literally anything), PLEASE help.

@troubledpasta the 1000 is very similar to the 1500 when it comes to the disassembly. Check this video and see if it sheds some light on your cameras disassembly. Also, check on here for further views.

While you work on your Polaroid 1500, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has a device with the same issues as you do. It's easy and fun to create these guides. https://ifixit.com/Guide/new The iFixit community will appreciate this.

@oldturkey03 just found this in my old camera section. See if that will help you a bit further along as well. Polaroid Land SX 70 Repair Manual

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.

I checked both the video and the blog and sadly they don't get deep enough into the camera. The blog gets close, the second to last image shows the part that has disassembled itself on my camera, but alas it doesn't go any further.

I'd love to make a guide if I can, the pieces of the 1500 seem to be a different shape even to the 1000 so nothing seems to be an exact fit, which sucks. I just don't have enough know-how on what piece does what to be able to confidently put it together.

I did find that Retrospekt in the US will accept this type of camera for repair under their Polaroid SX-70 Plastic Camera Repair option, and The Instant Camera Guy in Australia might also be able to do it (but haven't been able to confirm this), I think both can accept cameras that are shipped to them from anywhere in the world.

It's not as great as being able to make a guide but at least it's a way to get it repaired somehow.

Thanks for your update! This kind of exploded diagram would be perfect, but looking at the parts it looks very different to the parts of the 1500 and I don't recognize a lot of similarities (frustrating considering they both take SX-70 film!).

@troubledpasta sorry but that is really all I've got. I'll keep my eyes open and check other drives. I'll let you know if I can find anything else that might work for you.

@oldturkey03 That's ok, thank you for all your help either way! I have a sneaking suspicion repair manuals for this kind of camera might be lost media at this point (if they even existed as public knowledge in the first place!)

Someone in another forum suggested buying a for-parts camera and disassembling that one to see how it's supposed to look when put together, which I am tempted to do if I can locate a decent cheap one.

@troubledpasta that actually sounds like every good plan. Keep us informed about how things work out.
