Motherboard replacement for New 3DSXL (2015

Hello!!! Does anyone know how long it'll take for the 3DS motherboard to be restocked?

I'm trying to repair my old water damaged 3DS and I believe a non-messed up motherboard will get me closer to my goal. Thank you in advance :)

So, update, I decided to remove the motherboard and battery panel to check for more corrosion and I found this:

I did put isopropyl alcohol on the spots and they seem to have disappeared except I'm having some stubbornness from the ribbon cable.

Update: I found this spot stubborn as well

Hello, first of all can you post us some photos that the water has caused to your motherboard? because buying another motherboard is not 100% reliable and stocks vary according to the time of year, country etc... But with photos we could guide you to a potential repair of your motherboard

I can post photos as I've recently removed the back in preparation and everything. However, I was told by someone at a repair place that the motherboard and the IC had been damaged by the water and he told me it was non-repairable.

@lwest81000 The question is do you know the person of the repair place?

Because to say the motherboard is dead because of water is a weak response, and for IC there are chances according to the importance of water damage, but even with a microscope etc.. see that the pewter balls have been damaged is quite difficult

the photos have be added during the writing of the comment, from memory all the IC’s of the 3ds XL have visible paw, I advice you to applied some white vinegar (this will eat the oxidation) then resouder one by one the component that had been touched

(i have seen minimum 3 console wis water damage 10x worse that yours and with these steps its as new again)

@nothing666 Like, know him personally? No. I just found the shop through the internet and it said that they did 3DS repairs so I took a chance, got a diagnostic, and that's what he told me. It made sense to me because my console has been out of commission since 2015.

Also, I'm new to this sort of thing so I have zero clue what you mean by "paw", I don't know what a pewter ball is, and i don't know anything about soldering apart from it being a little tricky😅

And by apply white vinegar, do you mean take like a cotton swab or something and apply the vinegar to anything that looks like the water has touched it?

This has given me a little bit of hope tho, thank you!

Not necessarily in person but the reputation of the shop on the repair of 3ds.

Ok, so for short explaine you have two type of solder a ic, the classic one this "paw" so the ic has some kind of patties that connect to the tin part that connected to the whole system

the second is the solder ball, same thing but the welding points are under the ic and made in tin ball (a repair much more complex and very often require a microscope and an original IC)

for the white vinegar exactly a cotton swab, let the white vinegre do effect 2-3 hours and redo if any trace of oxidation remains, clean the board is alcohol at 90% or more and resolder the part that had been oxidized

no problem we all start somewhere in the repair this forum is here for that

@nothing666 okayyyy, I think I'm understanding it a little more. Is the soldering that you're recommending I do, the first one that you described? And if so, how exactly do i go about doing that?
