Model Number A1707. Released June 2017, this MacBook Pro features Kaby Lake processors up to the 2.8 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.8 GHz.

Will the screen fit?

Hi All,

I have two MacBook Pro’s. 1 a 2017 15” A1707 and the second, a 2019 MBP 15” A1990.

The screen on the A1707 is broken and won’t display at all.

The A1990 screen is perfect, but the Mac won’t boot at all, no fans, no display, nothing apart from the haptics on the trackpad.

Are the screens able to be swapped over so the A1707 is fitted with the screen from the A1990??

Hopefully they are interchangeable as currently I’ve two dead MBP’s but I don’t want to make a start swapping them only to find they don’t fit.

Many thanks in advance.

Sorry no, Apple loves making generational changes to prevent reuse of parts.
