It could be a worn or faulty clutch or perhaps a worn or faulty mode shifter.
Here's a video that shows how to replace the clutch which may help. At least you can then see if it is OK or not.
The part number for the clutch shown in the video i.e. WH05X24185 is for the one used in your model washer.
Here's a video that shows how to replace the mode shifter. The part number for the shifter shown in the video i.e. WH03X30517 is for the one used in your model washer.
If the problem is caused by either of these two parts, search online for the part number only, to find suppliers that suit you best.
