Repair and disassembly information for Google's Pixel 6 Pro smartphone, released in October 2021. Identified by model number GLUOG, G8VOU, and GF5KQ.

Touch no longer working at all.

Ok so my screen's touch started acting fickle then stopped working altogether I really love my phone as well as have way too much on it to lose and I can't afford to buy a new one. So I did what I normally do I read up on it, watched a million youtube videos and tried to repair it myself. The repair was relatively easy but my phone is still unresponsive. Screen picture is clear but no response at all I tried to even get in with a computer but unfortunately I did not have it set to allow that before now(side note pet peeve why are so many things you use to fix something only able to be turned on before it breaks??? Don't even get me started on the nightmare of getting into my emails without my phone but a suggestion make at least one of your recovery options your moms or a close friends email/number) I have tried booting it up in Safe mode and the other one sorry can't remember the name this minute and I also bought 2 different screens both the new ones and the original have full power and a normal picture but no touch I am truly stumped please any advice is greatly appreciated. PS~~I also have a new FPC(connector on the board not the ribbon end) but I've looked at the original under magnification and it looks perfect nothing bent all the pins look connected I don't want to go through the stress of motherboard work if I don't have to. If you even have a way to test it that'd be a help I can't really find a description of how I have several different electrical testers.Sorry if my lingo isn't 100% correct I'll be checking back frequently to see if anyone needs more information.Thank You!!!

Pick up a cheap wired mouse and a USB-A to USB-C adapter if needed. The mouse will be recognized as soon as you plug it in to the phone and you can use it to do anything you can with a touch screen. I've done that a couple of times when my 6 Pro screen inexplicably stopped responding to touch and it allowed me to get to the restart button.

Update (03/25/25)

@jinx77488 At this point it sounds like you've done everything possible to troubleshoot the issue, and absent any other information, it would seem to be a pretty sure bet that you got a defective screen. If you got it from iFixit it has a lifetime warranty and you should contact them about a replacement. Otherwise you should contact the vendor you bought it from to see what their procedure is for a warranty claim.

The only other thing you could do would be if you have the original screen and it was functional enough, you could try plugging it in to verify that the touch screen still works on it. If that's the case it would put the final nail in the coffin for the new screen having a defective digitizer. It's not common, but it does happen. Being a 6 Pro owner myself, I tend to notice issues with Pixel screens, and to be honest it seems to me that Google may have a quality control problem with their replacement screens, as I've seen more reports of bad screens than it seems you should see for a new, factory part (again, that assumes you bought the screen from iFixit, as they only sell genuine Google parts for Pixel phones).

So yeah, time to see about a replacement. Be sure to come on back and let us know how it all turns out.

I tried this too but my phone from the restarts is at that screen where it says unlock for data, ect and I don't see a mouse symbol pop up anywhere when i connect it. So did you just connect and wait? How long did it take to show up on yours? Did you connect while it was off then restart it already plugged in?Sorry for the million questions it's just driving me batty we've been fighting over a week at this point me an Ms Pixel she lucky I love her. lol

@jinx77488 The mouse cursor appears just as soon as I plug it in, whether I'm at the passcode screen or already logged in. I'm using a standard Logitech wired mouse and a cheap AliExpress USB-A to USB-C adapter.

@dadibrokeit I finally got a mouse to work and still can't get the touch screen to work I've restarted and tried safe mode I've done everything but a full reset I'm not sure what else to try.
