Have you checked that the power adapter for the monitor is supplying 19V DC at the output plug of the adapter?

If the power adapter is OK here's the Flatron E2742 Monitor Teardown guide, that shows how to open the monitor. This will allow you to check if there's any component damage on the power board in the monitor.

If there are signs of component damage or even if you're not sure, post some clear images of the board in you question. Here's how to do this on ifixit Adding images to an existing question
