Repair, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the Xbox Series S, Microsoft's newest small form factor, digital-only gaming console. The Xbox Series S was released alongside its more powerful big brother, the Xbox Series X, on November 10th, 2020.

No signal, Hmdi properly soldered

Recently got a broken series x off of ebay recently. The last person who owned it had replaced the hdmi port and done a bad job of it, there were bridged pins and pins that weren't soldered down to their respective pads.

So, I fixed those issues and then reassembled the console to test it but there was still no signal coming from the xbox. The Console would turn on just fine, light, fan spin etc, but no signal.

Here is an image of the pins on the hdmi port:

Sorry for the low quality had to take a picture of the screen on my microscope.

So I guess my main question is what would be the next step in troubleshooting, should I replace the Hdmi retimer?

Thanks for any help.

Hi there!

1 solder pad looks fused with another one, is this correct? And 1 solder pad has a little damage, is that correct as well? If yes, then please fix those. Otherwise, check the traces and see if they are fine. Otherwise you do need repair them.

If all is 100% OK, then replacing the HDMI IC is the next step!
