Released in November 2020, the 13" MacBook Pro features Apple's Arm-based M1 SoC with both an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU. (Model A2338 / EMC 3578 with two Thunderbolt 3 ports)

Why is my "2" Key Repeatedly Spamming Without Even Clicking It?

My '2' key has been sp2amming uncontr22olably for the past year, I have tried many ways, blowi2ng air to clean dust, etc. but nothing wo2rks. Is it a s2oftware or hardware issue? How sho2uld I fix it becaus2e I have been to the Apple Store 3 times and they have not been able to resol2ve the problem. Do I need to replace the s2w2itch? Replace keyboard? Logic Board? Or is2 it a s2oftware issue?

Maybe it’s time to either visit an Apple authorized service center or just replace the key cap and the other two parts under it so you have a new key. As well as a chance to clean a bit more.

Here’s one source for the needed part MacBook Pro keycap parts click on the image and drill down as needed. You’ll also want the scissor clip and rubber cushion if needed.
