Quad Core 9 inch Android enabled Tablet, released October 2014, identified by model number ME-9Q

Are their other screens that are compatible with this device?

I'm trying to do my own repair on a Visual Land Prestige Elite. The inside lcd glass with 40 pins 1024x600px is broken. I want to know if their are other models that have the same connection as the VL-PE 9Q 9 inch.

This way I can purchase a used one that I can canabalize parts from and fix mine.

Thank you all!

Hi Mike,

I did some poking around my usual haunts for LCD screens but only came up with one "maybe" supplier.

LCD Display Screen Replacement for Visual Land Prestige Elite 9QL Quad Core 9 Inch Tablet

The listing shows three different screens available, but the odd thing is that it says they're for a 9QL rather than a 9Q. I wasn't able to find out what the difference between the two models is, so I can't say definitively if this will work, but one of the screens offered is listed as having 40 pins so we're at least on the right track. Not sure if you've run across it already, but here's the iFixit guide showing you how to do the screen replacement.

One other way to locate a replacement part depends on the fact that very few laptop or tablet manufacturers actually make their own screens; I'd say probably 80-90% of them buy their LCDs off the shelf. So you may be able to find a replacement by finding out the manufacturer and their part number and searching based on that. If you take a look at the back of the screen, you'll find a label; copy down the model number from that and search for that number. Here's a picture from the screen replacement guide showing the label on theirs; it may or may not be the same as yours.

If you decide to brave the listing I posted, I'd suggest you remove your LCD first and compare it visually with the one they're offering. In particular, look for the position, shape and number of pins on the connector itself; if they are pretty much an exact match to yours then it's a pretty good bet it'll work.

Yeah, pretty much we on same page. Im working with a 9Q. It has the 40 pins. Imuched it on the same site.It shows the led screen for the 9QL. On their search page I just typed 9Q and it popped up, same screen discription with lil info. I just want to know if the 9Q, 9QL or other VL model that are 9" use the same lcd inner screen glass 40 pin 1024x600 are all the same with same fuction if that matters. But yea thanks , we are on the same track, and that might be where it ends. Someone is selling the 9QL cheaper then that site. I have a more top name brand tablet, just want to repair old VL 9Q for kick and dirt cheaep. Thanks for your help
