Hi Maria,

Frigidaire makes literally hundreds of different dishwashers so we can't know how to help you without knowing which one you have. If you open the door there should be a label somewhere either on the door or on the frame that's exposed when you open the door that gives the model number. Copy that down then come back and edit your question to add that info and then we should be able to find an answer for you.

I'm not clear exactly what part you are referring to when you mention a ball and valve; there's a float and a float switch, or there's something else called a flapper valve. Can you go through the parts website and show or tell us which part you mean?

Hi @maria34412

What is the problem with the dishwasher?

When you asked about the ball and valve, is there a water filling, draining or a cleaning problem with the dishwasher by any chance?

There is a check ball in the dishwasher and it's function is to control the water flowing between the upper and lower spray arms, which may be the problem if say the dishes in the upper rack weren't being cleaned properly for example

There's a water inlet valve and a drain flapper which are used to control the flow of water into the machine. The flapper valve prevents water from the drain from siphoning back into the machine

There is also a float switch and a float that are used to signal the control board as to how much water is in the machine so it knows when to open/close the water inlet valve and also to start/stop the drain pump.

Here are some videos that show how to replace each of the parts mentioned above. I've also added their part numbers.

If there's a faulty part that needs replacing, search online for the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.

check ball (p/n 154246402)

water inlet valve (p/n 5304525044)

drain flapper (p/n 807048001)

water level switch (p/n 154773201)

float (p/n 5304506520 - Note: the part number for the float as shown in the video has been superseded by the one listed here).
