A small white or black laptop with the word Acer written in silver on the outside cover. The top has a woven fabric texture to reduce glare.

How do I replace the hdd?

I want to upgrade the storage to allow for updates. The problem is it is currently at 29GB which would mean requiring a bigger storage upgrade. Help? (on a Acer Aspire 11 AO1 132)

Is has eMMC storage, which is a chip soldered to the board. Upgrading the onboard storage would require removal and re-soldering with a hot air rework station and possibly a board pre-heater. Not a DIY job for most people.

Furthermore, even if a larger eMMC chip were to be soldered on, there is no guarantee that the BIOS would recognize it. This upgrade would be experimental.

I recommend you use external USB for additional storage.
