Nokia 7100s data cable use

I have a Nokia 7100s phone which I bought about 15 years ago. Several years ago I also acquired the special data cable that fits into the socket between the charging and the headphone sockets. However, when I plug the USB end into my Windows 11 computer, nothing on my computer recognises anything has changed.

I would like to see if I have any pictures or videos which, although deleted, I might be able to restore with the proper software. Is there any way of getting access to whatever program Nokia engineers used with the above-mentioned cable? Or is there another way of doing it? Come to think of it, what was that socket and its corresponding cable for in the first place?

Hi @davidyoung13979

Seems like you need to use the data cable that is used with the phone.

If you have got it anymore, search online for CA-112DS to find suppliers that suit you best. (examples only)

Hi @davidyoung13979

The cable is designed to be used in conjunction with an FLS-5 adapter (see image) and it is used for flash programming the phone using proprietary software.

I can't find any suppliers for it online.

The phone's user manual doesn't specify that it can transfer stored user data via a cable connection. It does say that a Bluetooth connection can be used to do this.

Hi @davidyoung13979

Don't know if you're interested but here's the service manual and the schematics for the phone.

I specifically said in my original post that I acquired the data cable a few years ago.

My question is about how to use the data cable, as nothing happens when it is plugged in to my computer.

Thanks for the information on the FLS-5 adaptor.
