My phone did not recognize the charging cable
my samsung m12 phone did not recognize the charging cable, i tested the cable on another phone and it worked.
i tried to charge the phone from my laptop and it only work when i use the usb-A port but it gives me a long estimated time to charge (more than 7 hours),
and when i use usb-c port it did not recognize the cable.
I have tried some other things like charging the phone while turning off ,or to reboot the phone ,and even i updated the software, but nothing worked.
what should i do next and what is the potential problem.

The usb-c port may be dirty or damaged. There may be limited access to cleaning and if you attempt to clean it, power down the phone and remove the battery first. A magnifying glass or jeweller's eye loupe can provide a better view of the port to determine if debris or damage occurred.
