PS3 turning on with power button but not turning off

Very weird problem here, My fat ps3 turns on perfectly fine with the power button. The eject button works normally. However if I try to turn my ps3 OFF with the power button or try to enter recovery mode, it just does nothing.

Hi!

First things first, be sure that your PS3 is up to date.

The only thing what you can do, is to take the top cover off and clean the contacts on the motherboard and in the top case(carefully!).

Then put it together and see if that fixes it.

That is the only thing that is left to do.
