1 iPod rejects rockbox install
Hi,setting up new ipod with 1TB SS hard drive. iTunes setup ipod with format and set of files. Tried to install rockbox firmware utility but ipod refuses to install rockbox. What could be wrong. Hard drive seems fine.

Exactly what drive are you using and what interface? Also, what is the exact model number for your iPod Video?

Hello,I have a 5th. Gen. IPOD Video 80GB
MDL.1136 MA450LL and updating with 1TB SSD Drive Samsung drive MDL. MZ-MTEITO
Part# MZMTEITOHMJH 840 EVO mSATA 1TB
SSD Drive inserted in iFlash V.7 mSATA Adapter that connects to IPOD PC Board where the old 80GB HDD connected onto.
Plugged in Firewire cable with ext. Power and USB to WIN 7 computer and Itunes ran the setup and said IPOD is ready. Closed iTunes and ran Rockbox Utility,said installed successfully but didn't. IPOD screen reads Error: cant load Rockbox. IPOD file not found .
Mechanically everything seems fine.
What ca the problem be?

@rogerzywysky it does sound like an incompatibility between Rockbox and the drive/adapter. Have you tried to use the regular iPads firmware and checked to see if iTunes can access etc. your drive?

Good afternoon, there is no compatability issue. I have installed the iflash adapter on another IPOD and it works just fine. The iTunes software does recognize the hard drive. I have not yet try exchanging a good known working SSD hard drive for the so called problem drive.
