The GameCube is Nintendo's fourth console gaming system. Repair is simple and requires only common tools.

Won’t recognize that there is a game inside

Recently, my GameCube has had issues with not reading games. The laser mechanism moves and it tries to spin up, but after a few seconds it just stops. I have tested multiple discs, but none work. I know the games are good because they work fine in my Wii.

Hi Bryce!

Common issue unfortunately.

It’s either the laser OR the capacitors located on the drive it’s PCB.

I would replace the capacitors first and see how that goes (the issue you desribe matches with the capacitor issue).
