Flashing white bar LG 65UH6030

Hello all,

I have a LG 65UH6030 and when I plug it in and turn it on there is a bar about 6 inches wide that flashes on and off, part of the flashing bar is white. No picture other than the flashing. Could this be the Power board causing this? I appreciate the help.

Didn't think about the position of it, vertical.

Hi @gscott46993

You didn't specify whether the flashing line was a vertical or horizontal line.

Here's the service manual that may help.

Go to p.66 thru p.70 (of 78 pdf) to view the images of problems seen on the screen and check if you can find one that is close to what the problem is in your TV. The image seen on the display indicates where the problem is.

It seems more like a screen problem (known as module in the manual) more than a power board problem, although it could be a mainboard problem also.

This the one that looks the closest, Vertical Block

Source TAB IC Defect. I will check it again when I get home.

Thanks,

@gscott46993 let's see what this looks like. Post some pictures of what your screen shows with your question. That way we can see what you see.

From what you are describing. this indeed sounds like a Source Driver situation, but it is most likely brought on by a failed COF (that is the plastic film connector between the driver boards and the LCD) because of the width of it (you described it as ~ 6inch).

I will get pictures uploaded this weekend. Is this issue repairable if this is what the problem is?
