Smaller, thinner, quieter model of the Playstation 2 (SCPH-700xx) released by Sony in September, 2004.

Ps2 slim lens capacitors.

I have a ps2 slim scph-70003.

The disc spins up laser moves and recognises some discs but often the game freez

es or does not recognise a dvd based ps2 game.thought it was lens but the same effects and same problems are happe i g with 3 different lenses at the same points in games and not recognisung the same games.i thought it might be the same problem as the ps1 slim where i replaced the capacitors that powered the lens and enabled it to work perfectly

But i can find no capacitor kits to do this or any information on what capacitors are for the dvd lens in a slim

Nor can i find any capacitor kits for this 20yr old machine.

Hi Wayne!

I've read that Console5 have a re-cap kit available for the PS2 Slim.

You can find some more info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/consolerepair/c...

It also could be the laser it's ribbon cable.

If you need more information, please let me know!
