Golf 7.5 1.0L Manual 2019 Model Brake Pad Replacement
Hi, I have a Golf 7.5 1.0L Petrol vehicle which is a 2019 Model. The car is a manual and has an electronic handbrake. Can anyone help me understand if I need any software like the Ross-Tech Hex communication interface (https://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/hex-v2.ph...) to deactivate my electronic handbrake to allow me to push my Front and Rear brake Pistons further back when installing my brake pads. One engineer told me that I must only use a software communication device for the VW Golf vehicle to put it into maintenance mode to perform these basic services and then some have said you can manually deactivate the brake pistons by turning the key half-way, then standing on the brakes, then pushing and then holding the electronic handbrake down then turning the key off while standing on the brakes and then turn the key half-way while standing on the brakes to deactivate the brake pistons. I'm new to golf and wanting to change my brake pads of the vehicle but not sure what is the correct procedure as I don't want to damage the brake pistons seen that it is electronically managed. If anyone on the forum can advise I would be greatly appreciative of the guidance. My question is can I do it manually or must I have a software driven device to deactivate the brake pistons and electronic handbrakes.
