As jayeff has stated, we really need the model number, as there are quite literally hundreds of different dryers sold under the Kenmore brand. Sears doesn't actually make any of their own appliances, so ultimately they will end up being made by manufacturers such as Whirlpool, GE and others.

So the model number is critical to knowing what could be the possible problem. On older dryers with mechanical timers that's where I might suspect the problem to be, but newer ones use different mechanisms instead, thus I can't tell you where the problem might be without knowing what we're working on.
