Replacing the handstrap adjustment button spring for the controllers

The handstrap is intact, but over all this time of putting it on and taking it off, my handstrap, particularly in my right controller comes loose from open handed movement and isn't as tight as it used to be. I feel like the spring in the adjustment button at the bottom of the controller where the handstrap feeds has loosened, this kind of problem is the type that happens way out of warranty from continuous use over years.

The issue here is that in order to access this part you need to be able to separate the two halves of the handle, and in order to do that you need access to a screw at the bottom of the tracking ring which is cemented shut and can't be reached without destroying the tracking ring's shell. Consider tying a knot on the other end of the handstrap cord so it can't go through the hole and thus prevent the strap from slipping out.
