The mouse is a Microsoft Ocean Plastic Mouse. I hope the link is a hint in case I can open it to get some info's. But I see it works well with a M2 MacBook Air and an iPad too, so I guess could be something about the iMac.

I also bought and configured a keyboard with Bluetooth an Apple A1016 which had no problem to connect and is working flawlessly.

I would first check your systems settings, hold the Option key and then click on the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar a dropdown will appear take a snapshot of the pull down and post it here so we can see what’s happening.

Also what BT mouse are you trying to use? Make and model info would be helpful.

@mrkingkong - you can’t add photos to comments.

So the MS mouse is a 5.0 LE Bluetooth mouse. If I understand what you posted it is working with the M2 MacBook Air so we know the mouse is working just something with the iMac. I’m suspecting the version of Bluetooth support maybe the issue here. As you appear to have no problems with the keyboard. So this mouse is only BT 5.0 compatible not backwardly compatible with what this Mac offers (2.1+EDR Bluetooth standard).

@danj yeah, i guess the main problem is that. I figured out whats all about. The main problem is that from bt 4.0 has been introduced LE (low energy) and THAT PROTOCOLL blows up all. BT 3.0 still good to go. So the beter solution is to use a dongle stuf :(

@mrkingkong - I think you can still find older 3.0 Bluetooth mice that will work just fine. Bluetooth dongles need driver support within the OS. Make sure the package/online product page states macOS support.

If you’re set don’t forget to accept the answer - Thanks!
