Black sticker/tape on 15" 2014 MacBook Pro Cpu or gpu

I was repairing a 2014 15" MacBook Pro and accidentally removed the black sticker/tape that was surrounding the cpu or gpu, could this cause any problems or can I reassemble the machine as normal? if this could cause a problem could I replace this with something like electrical tape?

it was around the dies on the large chip in the center that has 2 die sections, I assume it was either for heat dissipation or to prevent it shorting on the heat sink.

@jude85858 - Ok, the issue here is this is a thin piece of heat resistant bakelite which is why it crumbled when you lift it off as it’s not very strong. Electricians tape is not what I would use, I would use kapton tape (polyimide tape) likely a few layers as it tends to be thin.
