Announced on October 13th, 2020, the iPhone 12 mini is a smaller version of Apple's iPhone 12. It features a 5.4-inch OLED display, an A14 Bionic processor, and dual rear cameras.

Does the iPhones purchase country/region affect functionality?

Hey Guys,

I bought a relatively cheap iPhone 12 Mini for my brother today just as a temporary phone.

I didn’t notice at the time, but it’s actually a Chinese-region iPhone (says WLAN instead of WiFi in settings - that was the tell). We are in Australia and I can’t seam to find anything that doesn’t work on it, so was just wondering if there is any functional difference in using an iPhone that is from a region outside it’s used-in country?

Thanks!

Chinese iPhone will not have FaceTime audio, if you FaceTime you'll have to full FaceTime.

Also Taiwan flag emoji won't display no matter what.

Apart from these two, I can't think of anything else that won't work as long as you have an Australian SIM card and Apple ID.
