A powerful multi-surface vacuum that has a detachable wand to clean in hard-to-reach places. Model number NV681

Motor replaced, no suction

I've just replaced the motor on my shark lift away NV601.

The motor powers on fine, however there is absolutely no suction and the motor cuts out when when the hoover is put in the upright position.

Can anyone help?

make sure the motor is working and there is suction if it works but can't suction, see if there is a damaged or torn hose

If your talking about the motor in the roller head, it is made to turn off when the unit is parked up right. Inside the head on the side opposite the motor is a switch under a white plastic guard.

If its the motor inside the canister shutting off you may have a short. Check that (all) the wire connections are only between wires of the same color.

Another possibility is a damaged wire that pulls apart in the up right position and pushes together when vacuuming. Turn the head over and check the hose for damage or wear. A bad hose could also cause loss of suction.

No suction can also be socks, toys, etc stuck in hoses or the main tube.
