I have swapped over middle cases before from 2008-2012 and it is quite a task as the middle case screw layout I believe will be the same, but correct me if I am not mistaken as the issues you will encounter from 2008-2011 (Late) boards are:
1 - The LVDS LCD Cable will need changing as they are different.
To change this you'll need to remove the glass on the display to get to the connector on the LCD.
2 - The Speaker on the DVD drive on the late 2011 is a different design from 2008.
3 - The Wifi/Camera cables & connectors are different on late 2011 boards.
To change them over you'll need to replace the whole assembly by removing the glass on the LCD.
4 - The SATA Cable on a 2008 is different to that on the late 2011, but it may work just at a lower speed.
5 - The Bluetooth board under the clutch cover will need replacing as 2008 are different to late 2011 You'll need to replace the whole assembly.
6 - Also no backlight would work on a 2008 2009 backlit keyboard work on 2008 MacBook?
So in a nutshell, the answer would be a 'no' unless you have a late 2011 donor for the parts needed....... personally I tend to avoid any MBP before 2012 as the 2012's were a HUGE improvement on their predecessors, as the costs of replacing or upgrading the parts needed o use the 2011 board in a 2008 unit it might work out the same as buying a 2012 model complete.
