1 Blue Light, no display, with homebrew
I’ve bought a New 3ds xl. It is not modded and doesn’t have an sd card in. However the screens don’t display anything. I can hear the background music and both blue and yellow indicators are on. The yellow indicator flashes intermitently.
As well, the 1st time i turn it on after a hard shut down there is no audio or anything. Just black backlit screens. However if I turn it off and on again then it gets to the home menu with no display.
I’ve tried various methods to fix it but none have worked. I’ve tried booting in safe mode but it didn’t fix the issue. I’ve tried reseating the wifi module multiple times though that didn’t work either. I’ve tried unpluging the camera, still didn’t work. I’ve tried to take out the battery and repeatedly press the power button but with no results.
Is there anything else I could do?
EDIT: I found out the system has been modded, most likely with homebrew.

Could be a lot of things... I know that the camera (flex cable) is able to cause this. Best thing is to unplug the camera and try again! If it then does boot successfully, then you know that the camera need to be replaced. Could still be the WiFi chip as well, replacing this one might fix it. It's also possible that one of the screens their ribbon flex cable is broken.
As you can see, many components can cause this :(. Are you sure it's not modded (by the previous owner or whatever)?

I don't think it is. It didn't come with an sd card and from what I understand it needs one for mods.

I'm not sure. I did saw some modded 3DS systems without the SD card in it. You could try to unplug the camera and see if that works or not.

I've tried turning it on without the camera plugged in but to no avail :(
I'll try to turn it on without the wifi chip and see if that works.

Hmm, I think that won't do either. Because it does need to have it plugged on to boot. Also, if one screen flex cable is broken, then the other screen should work (as far as I know). I think it is modded :(. @darthmango knows more about this.
