No power up after battery replacement.

I replaced the battery on my Pro 4 surface. It does nothing now. I see posts about this, but it seems like most will run on the power supply, but not the battery. Mine won't power up on either or both. No fan, no lights. Also, can troubleshooting be done with the display disconnected?
