Hinge or swivel is broken
The hinge of my headphone is broken, on the right ear, popped out was a metal horse shoe piece , it doesn’t seem anything has been broken off but there are parts that are cracked

Hey dude
IDK how it happened but a crescent moon of plastic broke off and the little metal horseshoe you describe came out. Took a tiny screwdriver and about half an hour of finagling and wondering why they had to make the parts so darn small to fix
I will have to use someone else's images. Credit goes to this Reddit thread, which is also where I found the solution
Here is the break: Reddit - https://preview.redd.it/wh-ch720n-hinge-...
Here are the missing parts: https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3...
Here is a picture of them when they're fixed
I will describe my fix and include as many pictures as I can. I did not take pictures while fixing sadly. I will also attempt to explain what I did.
THE EASY WAY: put the plastic back, or don't, then put a zip tie round it. Or tape.
THE PROBABLY MORE EFFECTIVE WAY (in which you replace the parts and this is what I did):
You will need:
A jeweler's screwdriver (aka the smallest screwdriver you can find, of the type used to fix eyeglasses. A pen may also work in a pinch but I haven't tried it.)
Two steady, nimble hands or very small pliers. At the bare minimum, you need to hold the headphones with one hand and put the parts back in with the other.
Patience (yours or a friend) and reminder that you are saving yourself 400 bucks by fixing this. Also, Sony's warranty apparently doesn't cover this issue.
So on the earphone portion of the headphones, when you lift up the actual earphone, there's a screw on the hinge. Here is a picture of the necessary screw. it is next to the QR code. You unscrew this screw. Then you put the metal horseshoe on the headset bit, bend the part you just unscrewed back, and place the horseshoe and the headset bit under the part you just unscrewed. The plastic also goes in there: there's a small hole you'll need to align it with.
After that, I put a zip tie round the whole rig. We'll see how well it holds.
Another guide to this fix! )no zip tie and I was looking for more pictures and found it.) Credit to This Reddit comment
