Trying to replace battery, think it might be defective

Hi ya’ll. I bought a replacement battery for my Nintendo Switch a week ago, and just took it apart yesterday. After finally removing the glue and the old one, I now can’t seem to get the connector to stay plugged in on the new one. Like it won’t stay connected.

@ivyleaguenerd possibly a bad contact or a bad connector. Take some good pictures of the board connector as well as the one on the battery. Let's see what you got going on there. Adding images to an existing question

Hi!

The connector looks fine at first sight. But could still be bad. When you try to connect your original battery again, does it fit immediately? As in, does it connect without using to much pressure?

If yes, then it's probably like millimetres difference and thus the connector is bad and you should probably return the battery.

Just ask for a refund and get the battery elsewhere. Where did you bought the battery if I may ask?

Hi, yes. When I attempt to reconnect the old battery, it does stay in with just one firm push of the connector into the port. So I fear it may be the connector on the replacement battery. I got it from iFixit ironically.

Ahh, yeah it sounds like it indeed... I would return it and get yourself a refund.

Maybe try Amazon? https://www.amazon.com/HAC-003-Internal-...

This exact problem happened with me. I bought a battery from iFixit and the battery connector wouldn't snap into place like the old battery would. Then I bought an official Nintendo battery off of eBay and had the same problem. I figured the little plastic connector was just slightly too big to snap in. I snipped off the little side wing snapping pieces and sanded the side edges just a little. It still didn't perfectly snap in place like the old battery but it definitely went in better than before. Before putting everything back together I tested out the Switch and everything seemed to work.
