@nancy24834 you did not give us a model number for your washer. It is possible that this is a leaking drain pump or a damaged drain hose. Time to turn it over and to have a look.

WHEN does it drain out????????????? Being more specific helps us a lot.
Any time - your external hoses, water valve
When it is filling - water valve, internal hoses, drum leak
When it is washing - water fill sensor is putting too much water in tank, drum leak
When it is emptying/spinning - water pump, drain hose
